In small cities like Singapore, we don't have 6 degrees of separation. Only 3.

And that's enough to find a connection from every person who is new to every person you've gone out with.

Can the past truly stay in the past? I don't think so.

Something in the wind has learned my name... And it's telling me that things are not the same.

Someday, I will wake up in my own home knowing there won't be a deadline to living there. In the mornings, I will scramble to get out of bed to make breakfast (Eggs Benedict, muesli, would you like coffee or tea?) for my loved ones before they wake, so they won't go hungry at school and at work; I will do so happily and willingly.

I will take time each day to savour the simple joys of living. Hopefully, I also get to set up a new life library. I will read bedtime stories to my kids, allow them to draw and colour on their walls, and be loving through good times, through bad times. I won't repeat the same mistakes you made.

Someday, it will be worth it. All this time.

Magickality

Waiting for the results of the EU Referendum. Please, in the spirit of good sense, #remain. I'm watching history unfold to the soundtrack of Harry Potter. On days when life feels unbearably mundane, I inject a little bit of magic by pretending to be part of the Wizarding world. In my head I am sauntering through the streets of Notting Hill. I am going to grab a bagel before heading to King's Cross. Of course, I'll see you on Platform 9¾. We're just walking one another home. The stories you read as a kid truly stick - I wouldn't have it any other way. Will someone read me bedtime stories please?
